What a corker of a weekend. Totally exhausted but so worth it.

Friday
Cosplay: None. Though my I'll Be Bach, Terminator T-Shirt with a picture of J.S. Bach done in the style of the Terminator movie got pics taken

Mainly went to writing seminars. Really interesting stuff. Bumped into so many people and caught up with cosplayers and steampunkers.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG There was a Pertwee era Sea Devil from Doctor Who My favourite costume at the con as I am such a Who fan.


Saturday
Cosplay: Pigsy from Monkey! (AKA Monkey Magic).
Had Monkey, Pigsy, Sandy and Tripitaka. No horse, sorry. So much fun, so many squeeing fans. I got recognised straight after I changed by people not going to Gencon so I was pimping out Supanova and Gencon to people at the Convention Centre who were going to other events.

Got pics of me fighting with stormtroopers - go the 501st Legion - and Afro Samurai. Big shout out to my Monkey! crew since they took up my suggestion of doing Monkey! with such gusto and great results in such a short period of time.

Congrats to and the Team Fortress 2 cosplay group for winning Best Group Cosplay. Love your work. We should totally get our photos taken together or something


Sunday
Cosplay: Mario. Part of the Brisbane Sci-fi and Fantasy Mario group consisting of: Mario, Luigi, Wario, WaLuigi, Professor Gadfly, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Princess Toadstool, Question Box, Shy Guy.

Got honked multiple times on the way to the bus stop, treated to a really bad whistled version of the Mario theme on the bus, and hellos from so many adoring fans on the way to the Convention Centre. And lots of pics taken. Each time our group posed for the cameras we'd have to hold the pose for at least another 5 cameras. Awesome.

During the day, shy kids would come up and take our photos, it was so adorable. Played Battlefield Live (laser tag) to the thrill of children "I killed Mario!" We did some Mario Brothers Boy Band poses with Mario, Luigi, Wario and WaLuigi.

We won Best Group Cosplay! Got a certificate, so I'm certifiable . Almost dreading seeing our skit on the DVD since we came up with the skit in line to get up on stage. And they kept elaborating Luigi and my roles. Yeah, lets catch giant plushie mushrooms while wearing giant Mickey Mouse gloves. Great idea that. But we did The big glove gods were smiling on us that day Ended up improvising a bit too with the whole posing before punching the box.



Camera died early on Saturday Missed out on so many photos :/ Sunday morning I had to dig out my first camera which was about 5 years old. Aargh. So many crap photos on Sunday. Going to be a while before I can get mine repaired or replaced Photos will be up here when I've sorted through the best of them. Anyone on Facebook can see them already.
